To mark 40 years in business, a national company celebrated its people with a corporate awards gala at Boston’s Museum of Science. The client wanted the museum itself to be the star, so Siagel Productions planned and produced an evening across three floors of the Blue Wing, finished with polished, subtle 40th-anniversary branding instead of a heavy theme.
Boston Corporate Event Production on a Two-Hour Clock
The Museum of Science stays open to the public until 4:30 PM, and guests were due at 6:00. That left our team less than two hours to transform three floors of a working museum. Every piece was staged and labeled before the doors closed, and every video file for the LED posters and screens was in hand and pre-loaded ahead of time, because there was no window to troubleshoot on site.
Led by Siagel Senior Event Planner Rachel Blomerth, a crew of nearly 20 audio, lighting, furniture, dance floor, décor, and video technicians moved in the moment the last visitors left. The LED dance floor went down tile by tile, truss towers went up for the club light show, and 100 uplights washed the Blue Wing in cool blue, all ready for the first guests.
Audio on Every Floor and a Main Stage for the Awards
A museum built around open atriums and balconies is beautiful, and tricky for sound. On the first floor, an augmented DJ sound system with satellite speakers powered the dance floor. The second and third floors got their own speaker system, mixer, dedicated audio technician, and wireless microphones for the program, with satellite speakers carrying the speeches to the balcony.
On the main stage, three TV screens and four LED posters ran custom 40th-anniversary content as the company recognized this year’s award winners, with the museum’s giant Earth hanging overhead.
A Nightclub in the Museum: LED Dance Floor, Blue Steel Lounges, and Décor
When the program wrapped, the Blue Wing turned into a nightclub. The LED dance floor glowed beneath the giant Earth, an intelligent club light show ran from the truss towers, and MC Drew and DJ Crispy kept the floor packed alongside four Siagel party motivators in custom jerseys. A roaming photo booth captured the night as it moved through the crowd.
For a social, flexible feel, we skipped banquet seating. Registration ran from bar units in the atrium, and guests gathered at Blue Steel lounge clusters and high cement share tables with ghost stools, finished with white floral centerpieces, with décor and furniture rentals from Art of the Event.
Boston Corporate Event Planning, Start to Finish
Big-venue events in Boston come with real constraints: tight load-in windows, multi-level spaces, and a venue that’s open to the public until moments before guests arrive. This 40th-anniversary awards gala showed what Siagel Productions does best: plan every detail ahead, bring sound, lighting, video, entertainment, and décor under one team, and deliver a polished celebration of the people behind a 40-year-old company. It’s a standout example of Boston corporate event planning and production.
