DJ SPINDLER

A little about Spindler

Not only is DJ Spindler a passionate and established Disc Jockey, he is the musical heart of our entire company.  The day he received his first CD player in 1987, an epic journey began which has forged a truly exceptional DJ.  Spindler has been spinning since 1992 and has come to love connecting with clients and audiences through music.  His hobbies speak to his love as he spends his time collecting records, modifying turntables, and organizing all the music for Siagel Productions' 500 events per year.  He loves his kids too!

Working with Siagel was fantastic. Kerry was incredibly responsive and walked us thru the entire process to be sure we were matched with a DJ who checked all our boxes. We worked with DJ Spindler and he hit the nail on the head—we had a REALLY wide range of guests and musical tastes (and a big group of friends who like to get together and talk but not dance) and he played all the right songs to get them (and keep them!) on the dance floor. We did our whole wedding piecemeal and on a tight budget—we didn’t have many decorations but using the LED lights they offer made it look like we spent thousands dressing up the room. Truly a pleasure to work with! Highly recommended.

We are so pleased to have selected Siagel Productions for our wedding in Boston. Their customer service was amazing. We worked closely with Paige LaDue, an event coordinator, whom was very organized and responsive. She did a great job guiding us through the DJ selection process and making sure everything was in order in preparation for our wedding day. We went with DJ Eric Spindler because of his extensive resume and it helped he had experience working at our venue (Alden Castle). Overall, we found Eric to be very professional, respectful, extremely accommodating, and just had the wonderful personality. He did a fantastic job not only playing the right music but also emcee our wedding. He even pronounced our bridal party names perfectly (which can be difficult given some were Asian). We would likely recommend Siagel Productions and Eric to our close friends in Boston looking for a DJ for their wedding. -J&J

You are approaching finding a DJ the same way I did.  I too felt it was THE key piece of my wedding day.  I looked at it this way: "I am hiring someone to make the soundtrack for the most important day of my life..." No pressure, right? I will say this about DJ Spindler (Eric), book him.  Book him now.  You will not regret it.  He was upbeat and had such a great personality that he made one of the hardest parts of wedding planning (the music) practically worry free.  I honestly cannot say enough good things about him and apologize in advance as to how long this e-mail is.

My wedding was September 2018 at Stonehurst Manor in North Conway, NH.  We had guests as young as 1 to 81 years of age, about 100 total guests, small-ish wedding.  We had an outdoor ceremony in the front courtyard and a tent reception in the back.  Eric set up a small station in the front for the ceremony (was far behind my guests, kind of out sight, out of mind) and had his main gear in the reception tent near the dance floor. I know he arrived early and was set up well ahead of our noon ceremony time.

One thing I want you to know, when you hire Eric you are getting a REAL DJ and not some guy who shows up with a few speakers and a laptop who then just presses play. You get a professional DJ with turntables, mixing board, vinyl and the digital standard stuff of today.  I had no idea I was getting that with my wedding, and have not seen vinyl used at any of the weddings I have been to in recent years.  I thought my groomsmen were just messing with Meg and I as were getting our pictures done when they told us "Your DJ is awesome, he has records..."  One note here, is how good everything sounded once the reception started.  He mixed everything PERFECTLY.

Eric called us two times, but you can call him any time if you need to change something (we even did some last minute changes the day of; that is how flexible/prepared he is).  The first call was an introductory call and with someone for Siagel. The second call comes just a week or two before the wedding.  Siagel will have you complete a questionnaire asking what music you want played and not played (hardest part right there), also the names of people in your party, etc.  Tons of details really.  When Eric calls you to review those details he is very well prepared.  We could tell he was already working on our requests (Meg was VERY specific about the music to be used while our guests were being seated at the ceremony) and preparing additional music for the day. The questionnaire you complete tells him the age range of your guests, and he gets a REAL good idea of your musical tastes too. He does an excellent job of getting you excited for your big day on that call too.  Like the stress we were feeling from typical wedding planning melted with that call.  He has a really good demeanor.  We NEEDED that call, haha.

He will ask what kind of reception you want.  Classic wedding or are you looking for a dance party (we went with dance party as we wanted our guests to have fun and enjoy themselves). He took all the music we had asked him to play and he built a seamless setlist.  There wasn't any song that seemed out of place.  Which is saying something when you have asked him to play things like Sinatra, Run DMC and Guns N Roses.  It was honestly awesome.  He uses a mix of vinyl and digital and will scratch records to give a cool transition between music (the guests loved that).

Our dance floor was never empty.  But if you want the dance floor to be packed, just remember that at weddings that some people are hesitant to go up until the bride and groom are on the floor too.  That usually opens the flood gates.  For Meg and I; Eric played 'It Takes Two' by Rob Bass once we got up on the floor to casually dance and the floor was instantly packed.  I will never forget that and is one of my happiest memories of that day. He honored requests of my guests, and no joke, anytime my wedding comes up in conversation the first thing said is "Oh my god, your DJ....!"  Keep in mind, our desserts were prepared by someone who was featured in the Martha Stewart magazine.  He eclipsed her in positive comments.

One of the cool things he did was let a few of the Bridesmaids behind his set up for a few pictures that made it look like they were DJ'ing the wedding (make sure your photographer gets THAT picture).  He had everyone dancing from our 5 year old guests all the way up to my 81 year old Step Father in Law.  We had asked that he avoid using DJ tricks like the 'Cha-Cha Slide' to get people to dance and he had told us that he seldom has to revert to those tactics.  He wasn't joking.  He is that good.  He did say he is more than willing to do that if that is something we wanted on our wedding day though.  He knew when to amp up the music for the dance floor and when to slow things down.  He does an excellent job of pacing your party.

Eric asked if I wanted him to stay for an extra few hours to keep the reception/party going, and that was the second easiest "I do." I had said that day.   On the questionnaire they ask you what you want as the last songs of the night, and he was doing such a good job (he seemed to have 'read' my guests better than I did) that I asked him to "forget what I wrote and play whatever he would like as the last few songs of the night." Oh, and one final thing, he is excellent at non-verbal communication.  If you are dancing and want him to switch up songs, you can look at him and give him a nod and he knows exactly what to do.  He kept his focus on us the entire time.  Meg gave him a very quick head nod to end a song early (the father daughter dance with her 81 year old Step Father, the old guy was a looking real tired at that point) and Eric knew exactly what to do. I can't really explain well, it but it was smooth.

I asked my wife if there was anything negative we could say and she said: "The only negative I can think of is there isn't something else we could book him for..."  That coming from the Bride is a huge endorsement.  I hope this helped give you confidence in booking Eric as honestly, no other DJ at any wedding I have been do can compare to him.  I had THE best DJ of any wedding, and hopefully you will too.  Best of wishes to you.
