Some celebrations are about the party; Gail’s adult Bat Mitzvah was about meaning. Held at her private home in Westwood, MA, it was a heartfelt celebration of life and Torah — and we set out to give it a setting as thoughtful as the milestone itself, with jewel tones, Torah motifs, and considered details woven through every corner of the property.
A Clear-Top Tent, Live-Edge Share Tables, and the Tree of Life
For phase one, we tented the yard with a clear-top structure that kept the surrounding trees in full view and let the evening light pour in. Long live-edge wood share tables ran beneath it, dressed in jewel-tone runners with Tree of Life centerpieces and pops of blue glass, while hanging vegetation and a custom Edison-bulb fixture drew the eye upward. A stained-glass Tree of Life backdrop anchored a deep-blue velvet lounge — the Torah’s tree of life motif turned into a design language that carried across the whole space.
An Ark-Inspired Bar in a Newly Renovated Garage
The family’s newly renovated detached garage gave us something special to work with. We transformed one side into a genuinely cool, ark-inspired bar scene — a warm, intimate counterpoint to the tent that gave guests a place to gather, drink, and take in the details up close.
After Dark: A Garage Turned Nightclub with DJ Tony
As the evening went on, the other half of the garage became a full-on nightclub. DJ Tony of Siagel Productions took over behind a custom-lit DJ booth — its face glowing with the same Tree of Life motif — while colorful, upbeat controlled lighting washed the wood-beamed ceiling and hanging ivy. The floor filled fast and stayed that way.
From a clear-top tent and a stained-glass Tree of Life to an ark-inspired bar and a late-night dance floor, Gail’s Bat Mitzvah proved that an at-home celebration can be every bit as immersive as any venue. For 50 guests, we produced a night that honored life and Torah in equal measure — a standout example of Boston bat mitzvah planning and event production.
